OceanaGold Corporation (OceanaGold) is committed to creating positive enduring legacies through sustainable development initiatives. At OceanaGold sustainable development for us means undertaking steps to ensure that benefits last well beyond the lifecycle of our projects. In planning programs and projects we consider the triple bottom line – our social responsibilities, our environmental management programs, and our economic goals. We are guided by our ethics, and held accountable by our policies, stakeholders and shareholders.
Our Corporate Social Responsibilty (CSR) policy was approved by Board of Directors in early 2009 and we are currently reviewing our policies to ensure that CSR figures prominently throughout all areas of our business. These are some of the key steps we are taking as part of our journey towards sustainability which we embarked on in late 2007. We will report on our progress on our website and in our annual reports.

OceanaGold is committed to successfully developing its mining projects, and at the same time committed to improving the lives of its local communities by supporting sustainable community development. We recognise that success is not just about the end result, but also about how one gets there. The company is therefore focused on establishing and undertaking public consultation throughout all stages of our projects to ensure community concerns can be voiced and addressed.
